The apartment location and space was good. It was clean and located in the village- centre. The apartment facilities were basic but were good enough for our stay !

The property is at an amazing location, the terrace on the third floor is definitely a plus where you can enjoy the Sun and the view. The home is fully furnished and modern: it definitely has all the necessary for a good stay

As one of five (cinque) little villages, Corniglia is located up on a hill accessible by either walking up the road or a lot of stairs (once repaired) or taking the mini-bus-shuttle to and from the train station.
Corniglia is the only of the five villages without ferry service. Therefore, it's a bit less over-crowed than the other four villages. Other than that, it features the same narrow alleys with lots of stairs, colorful houses located on steep hills and views of the sea and the surrounding mountains.
Corniglia has two mini supermarkets and probabely a little less restaurants and shops then the other villages. Both hikes - to Vernazza as well as to Manarola via the mountain trail (not the coastal trail, which was closed) - are very recommendable.
Public terraces with a view
- at the end of the main alley
- access behind the Oratorio dei Disciplinat di Santa Caterina
Recommendations
- breakfast/snacks: Á Càneva (outside seating only - across from the San Pietro Church)
- breakfast/lunch/dinner/cocktails: Caffè Matteo (inside and outside seating)
- dinner: Nunzio & Elia (great Pizza!)
- drinks/snacks: Marina di Corniglia Bar (outside seating only; nice sunset loaction down on the way to the sea - blink and you miss it)

What a wonderful town for wandering and seeing incredible views! Great food, beautiful views, great hiking -- and so easy to get to the other Cinqueterre towns from here. More people should stay here. Really gives you an authentic experience of the local culture. Less touristy than the other Cinqueterre towns-- which you can get plenty of if you hop on a 3-6 minute train ride to any of the other towns. Loved the views and gelato.

The small village is wonderful.
The small village is wonderful. You can get to know the people that live and work there very easily.
I DEFINITELY would NOT use Corniglia as a home base to see other Cinque Terre villages unless you love to walk up and down a very big hill or 375 steps.

This is a lovely little town.
This is a lovely little town. Be prepared if you plan to hike between towns. It's a challenge but worth it. The views are spectacular. If you're into walking some more steps down to the water in Corniglia, you will see a cute little restaurant on your left. Plan to have dinner there. It's peaceful and the atmosphere is gorgeous.

As the village is on the top of the cliffs it helps to have done some preparatory work to have stronger leg muscles and to have done some hills as the bus gets very crowded- no etiquette.
All the cafes and bars do good food Pan e vin did a fair priced Italian breakfast. The Bar below the Church had large Lattes if you need them and good choice of sharing boards.
Caffe Matteo looked after our group of 8 in the evening very well. Staff were great.
Once in the village you can navigate the narrow streets quite easily but they get very busy with day trippers. We enjoyed our trek to Manarola

While a little harder to access (steep stair climb or shuttle bus) than the other villages, the "isolation" means a little less mobbed by tourists - although still jam packed during the day. The central location means hiking the main trail can be done easily in either direction. Superb restaurants (and gelato...) on hand. Reserve and make the hike for lunch to Ittiturismo Corniglia Sp 4488 for a really special experience. And don't miss the two churches...
The staff at il Magan were absolutely fantastic and made this magical place feel even more special. Between the amazing location, an amazing view from the terrace (which was unfortunately being renovated during my stay), delicious breakfast and an incredibly helpful set of staff, my stay couldn’t have gone any better. The beds were incredibly comfortable which made for a great night’s sleep, and made it tempting to lay there instead of going out exploring! When I come back to Corniglia, I’ll have to stay with this hotel again.
Balcony was great, we usually took takeaway pizza and ate it there watching the sunset as the view was better than at the restaurants. You can walk down to the sea from the apartment and have a swim. The host gave us directions to the apartment and left the key at a cafe, so we could arrive at any time. A shop near the bus stop sold bacon, which is unusual in Italy. The town is much better than others in Cinque Terre - not so loud and crowded with tourists, but still restaurants, cafes, bars and shops are easily available.
Amazing views, right in the centre of the main town of Corniglia, very, very close to the bus stop. All the amenities you could need and amazingly kind hosts!
Nadia, her brother Marco, and their mother were all so lovely. It was very hot when we arrived, so we were welcomed with an icey lemon drink the mother made ( with her own lemons)
They all were very informative, answered all our questions, and showed us everything we would need to use in the apartment. Very kind family.
Thank you for having us
Our hosts, Giulia and Gianpaolo, made our stay really memorable. They paid attention to all single details, very kind people! The breakfast is just amazing, everything is delicious, freshly prepared according to your wishes.
The building looks freshly renovated, all the equipment is top quality, all beds are super comfy!
The stay was even better than a regular hotel, much more guest focused!
Our family of four enjoyed our stay in Cinque Terre at Il Timone. The room was very clean and spacious enough for us all. The terrace was wonderful! We could look out over the coast and sea towards Manarola after a day of exploring. Perfect with shade in the evening.
Simple, comfortable and centrally located in a charming village. Expect hills and stairs in the Cinque Terre, but it’s well worth the effort. Corniglia is a gem, as are the Affittacamere Le Terrazze and Marie Angela is a delightful host.
The town, scenery, terrace views, and local wine were incredible. The people were so kind and excited to share in the wonders of Cinque Terre. Most incredible hotel and region we stayed in throughout Italy.
We loved the view that is excpetionnal, the cleanliness, the facilities and the village it is located...Corniglia is definitley the hidden gem of Cinque Terre. I more than highly recommend the place.
I loved the location, the view, and the roomy bathroom. It's a very cute apartment, located perfectly near the train station, which makes it perfect for visiting the other 4 towns in Cinque Terre.
The view was the hotel rooftop was absolutely stunning - a great place to sit and meditate after a day out. Easy to get to and from the main square, shops, cafes and stairs of Corniglia.
The apartment is in the center of the ancient city and was a perfect location to explore the Cinque Terre. The apartment management was responsive and kind.
The staff is very nice! You can let your luggages all day for free in lockers. The location in Corniglia is amazing to visit all villages in Cinque Terre
The location was perfect and the view was amazing. The owner was very accommodating and kind. Highly recommend staying here if you are in Cinque Terre.
