The old town within the walled city has plenty to explore.
The old town within the walled city has plenty to explore. Lots of places to eat and drink. We went on an interesting walking tour which explained the history of the city.
We were only there a day as walking the Camino Primitivo but could easily have stayed longer.

The city is beautiful and has lots to offer… for example the Cathedral has an impressive museum upstairs on the gallery as well as a stunning altarpiece and stained glass windows; the tourist information office has an important exhibition about the Roman wall, which is apparently the most complete walled city in Europe. You can walk all the way along the wall in about 45 minutes.
Coupled with this, there are amazing bars and restaurants with friendly locals and the Playa de Las Catedrales, north of Lugo is the most stunning beach I’ve ever seen.

Mostly pedestrian within the walls, so easy to wander through interesting streets and you can do full circuit of the Roman walls, about 2k, wide path and views over city.Other Roman remains slightly disappointing although the mosaic house was worth visiting. We also enjoyed the exhibition on the Camino in the regional tourist office. Panels in Gallician, Spanish and English. Helpful attendant showed us costume display, garden and gave us leaflets for the different Camino routes.

Lugo is a good place to visit for a day or overnight trip - the Roman walls and old town offer good options for sightseeing- walk the entire wall and then there are many fabulous bars and restaurants - great Tapas - it is not touristy
There is not enough space here to fully convey just how wonderful the hotel and Pedro really were. After a grueling day, Pedro offered us a much needed bottle of chilled water before he even checked us in. We needed to extend our stay due to some road injuries and his overall understanding and hospitality left us beyond grateful. We had originally booked the "big hotel" in town but changed that the week before our arrival. Best decision ever. Plus, the wall was right outside our window...
I spend one night in the end of June in this peaceful and cozy place. It was in the center of Lugo. There was only four customers, even it was so cheap and value of money. Very clean place. Nice single beds. Many bathrooms. Towels were included in the price. The door code was easy to use. Friedly stuff. Lugo was beautiful city surrounded by the Roman wall. Gracias!
The price is right. Simple small room with a comfortable twin bed. Excellent WiFi and a powerful air conditioner. Altho it’s a shared bathroom I was unaware of anyone else was using it. A number of far more expensive hotels in town have poor WiFi ratings. I don’t usually book hostels but this was a good choice. Manager was a good guy. Carried my suitcase upstairs
Fantastic. Really outstanding staff. Very friendly and very accommodating. The location is perfect, right in the centre of Lugo beside the Roman walls. Bars and restaurants are within one or two minutes walk. The hotel and the rooms are super clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
A fairly standard corporate hotel. We only had food in the cafe which was adequate but not inspiring. A good regular bus service into Lugo and staff very helpful in explaining the routes and procedures. Otherwise not a great location, not able to walk anywhere. An interesting large superstore adjacent to the hotel.
Everything from location, short walk to cathedral and walls, on site parking, wonderful decorations everywhere, very friendly staff, breakfast with an array of cheeses and cakes was well worth it, a shower that has to be experienced, you name it this hotel is the best
everything about the hotel is great The dinner and breakfast were delicios, the staff very kind, the location in the heart of the old city and directly on Camino. We really enjoyed our one night stay on Camino primitivo in Mendez Nunez!
This was a great house with a traditional feel, very roomy and homey, with a comfortable bed and cozy bedding—and just a short walk into the vibrant town of Lugo! Adrian, our host, was very communicative, responsive, and helpful!
Great stay on the Camino Primitivo if you are staying in Lugo. Very new, large, and modern for a Camino but super functional and great facilities, especially after a week in smaller places. Staff was great. Highly recommended.
I recently stayed at Hotel and it was really good, just as I expected. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great hotel experience.
The staff was wonderful, very helpful. The location was fantastic!!! It really is in the heart of Lugo, I was able to do so much sightseeing!!! I will DEFINITELY stay at Hotel Mendez Nuñez when I return to Lugo!
Well located inside the walls of Lugo and not far off the Camino. If you're looking for a hotel in Lugo this is a very good option. There's also a laundrette nearby and a very good breakfast bar next door.
The hotel is a very comfortable and well kept building with good sized rooms and comfortable beds. Staff are great and there is off road parking. Showers powerful and a decent size.
excellent view of the Roman wall. quiet close to everything! stores, tons of food options. kitchen is great! very well decorated. a great place to stay a few days and explore Lugo
The hotel looked pretty new and the room was clean. The location was alright as it was about a 20 minute walk to the Roman walls of the city. A few good cafés close to the hotel.
Great new modern appartment in the centre of Lugo. Only 5 minutes walk to shops, restaurants, parking and old buildings. The best place to stay in Lugo
