Bed was comfortable, staff were super friendly and helpful and breakfast was great and included. Also enjoyed lunch in the pub. Room had everything needed e.g. iron, hair dryer, tea and coffee etc. Taxi's easy and lots around eg. restaurants, shops, nice walking routes.

The hotel, location, local scenery and roaring log fires were all superb. Very relaxing and enjoyable. Unfortunately we really don’t like “fine” dining and so couldn’t use the main restaurant. Dishes such as raw mackerel, eel or turnip are just not for us and I just wish they would put on a fillet steak and a fish dish for those that don’t like fine dining but do like eating in more upmarket, and more traditional, restaurants. Although there is a brasserie style restaurant it doesn't have the same ambience and we found ourselves eating out most nights.AndrewUnited Kingdom - 10Scored 10

The scenery is magnificent and historic towns are within easy reach. The Abbey itself was destroyed in Henry viii's time, but half of the church was rebuilt/restored in the 10th century. A lovely place to relax and dream.DavidUnited Kingdom

A very nice welcome pack in each room, and gowns and slippers provided. The spa facilities are in a separate building across the road, it was very nice but it is advisable to prebook as spaces for treatments are limited, and even use of the pool etc. had to be booked to prevent overcrowding.BRENDACyprus
