Quirky and comfortable, plus well sized rooms. The restaurant was too pretty and convenient to walk past - we had breakfast and a couple of lunches there. Great neighbourhood for cafes and shopping, with leafy streets to walk in if you want to avoid the Portobello Road hubbub.
Right on the water’s edge, St Mawes Hotel is located on the south coast of Cornwall, offering fresh and modern rooms with soft duvets.

Great food and the opportunity to eat breakfast or have pre dinner drinks on the balcony. Manager is great, really helpful.

We had a very pleasant couple of nights. The accommodation is very bright and comfortable, pretty garden, tasty breakfasts, parking on site, and only short walk into St Mawes.

Great reception on arrival, and the hotel and room are very clean and 'neat'.
The only meal I had was breakfast, which was served quickly and was excellent.

One of the loveliest villages in England.
One of the loveliest villages in England. Thoroughly recommend the walk from St. Mawes to St. Just and a visit to the church there. The Rising Sun is a great little pub for a cheap meal and the Idle Rocks a fantastic restaurant for a not-so-cheap meal 🙂
A visit to a castle is always a bonus and St. Mawes is superb.

Fantastic village, port to explore itself and travel out on the ferry or on bus or foot or car. Ferry’s are great fun and Place, Falmouth and Trelissic Gardens are all accessible by Ferry. Buy a 3 day pass to save 50%. There are 2 castles near by and Falmouth has lots of shops. Parking in St. Mawes is tricky and needed careful planning. Lots of restaurants

A quaint tiny village with the most perfect views out to sea. Lovely walks, enough eateries to accommodate most tastes and pockets. A walk up to the castle is a must, there is a lovely little coffee van that serves excellent coffee and homemade cakes all with the most stunning views

St Mawes is a lovely village by the sea/estuary retaining much of the original properties. Many of the properties near the sea front are holiday rentals. There are half a dozen restaurants and a fish and chip shop. There are a few shops including a small supermarket. Boat trips regularly run to Falmouth for a change of scenery for the day. I would imagine in the height of the summer the village is very busy which may be an issue for eating out.

The hotel should be pulled from your site, it's a disgrace.
The hotel should be pulled from your site, it's a disgrace. Damp patches on all communal areas, thread bare furniture, scruffy staff. The room also had damp patches, window would not close , gaps between the window and walls, damp unpaired patches on the walls. The bed was uncomfortable, the walls dirty, shower had no flow, ceiling light full of flies. When I complained with another guest the receptionist just shrugged her shoulders.
All this for £200 a night
This boutique hotel is all about service. We were made to feel very welcome, our names were on our bedroom doors, and the rooms were lovely and comfortable with beautiful views of the bay. We enjoyed a cocktail on the deck, coffee in the lounge, and a very nice breakfast in their beautiful dining room. It is incredibly peaceful and the public spaces are bright and beautiful. We also enjoyed the quick walk up to the old St. Mawe's fortress.
The breakfast was first class. The reception staff were friendly and the most efficient I have come across ,they were exceptional. The rooms were spot less and warm, as was the rest of the hotel. The shower was brilliant with as much hot water as you could ever want. Lovely log fire in the lounge, which we tested quite a bit. As for the location. Perfect!. To use the old adage you do get what you pay for.
Location was amazing, no parking but a cheap 24 hours carpark next to the hotel for £7 the rooms and the hotel was incredibly well furnished with lots of excellent details in the room like maps, postcards, dry robes to borrow, bags to borrow, great mini bar and snacks with sofa and chairs in the room it felt more like an apartment than a room it was amazing and relaxing brilliant breakfast as well
I booked the accommodation with the intention of staying temporarily while I search for a house in Truro for my new job
It turned out to be far better than I imagined. The only downside was the distance from my place of work which has nothing to do with the property itself.
I would have loved to stay much longer if it was closer to my place of work.
Overall, it was a magnificent place to stay.
The hotel has a splendid position which is matched by superb meals and excellent service. We had a Harbour View room, which was spacious and nicely furnished; we did indeed wake up to the sea lapping against the wall beneath our window! The bar service was also excellent; we never knew there were 3 different types of Manhattan cocktail, and now we do!
everything was superb from arrival and warm greeting the fabulous breakfasts large room with excellent decor all top quality furnishings and toiletries better than some five star hotels I have stayed in trust me
anyone who stays will be impressed and the bonus a cared for garden

The breakfast had an amazing choice & was delicious.
Amazing location - incredible views - very high standard of finish on everything staff were lovely - for us this was an expensive hotel but it was so special it was worth every penny
GOOD SEA VIEWS. I ONLY EAT CONTINENTAL BREAKFASTS. COMFORTABLE BEDS. ACCESS OUT OF HOTEL ALWAYS BLOCKED BY CARS, NARROW AREA FOR WALKING FOR ANYONE WITH/WITHOUT A DISABILITY.
Nice spacious room with lovely en-suite. Breakfast had a lot to offer and was superb although service a little slow at times.
The location of the Hotel was excellent.
The staff were very attentive and very helpful, the food was excellent. the hotel is a little bit pricey but well worth it, especially for a special occasion.
