Such a quaint little town perched on the waters edge.
Lots of lovely restaurants serving lovely fresh seafood. And some quirky little shops.
We ate lunch at PJ’s known for its oysters.
And at the kingfisher bistro in the evening. Both served delicious food.

Lovely apartment on the Lough.
Lovely apartment on the Lough. The hosts make full use of the space allowing a party of five to stay in comfort. We were there on a Monday and Tuesday night and several of the restaurants were closed which is such a pity which resulted in us having to get take out. The property is right at the entrance to the Greenway and the bike hire company there were great, reasonably priced and very pleasant

Visited Carlingford for a wedding in the Four Seasons Hotel, which is an excellent venue for such an occasion. Quaint small town which was easy to navigate with one way system around town centre. Ate lunch in Carlingford Arms - excellent service and tasty food except for too many onions in chicken curry. Great view of Carlingford Lough from Castle. Visited a few interesting antique shops.

Carlingford is a very beautiful and historic village/small...
Carlingford is a very beautiful and historic village/small town situated on Carlingford Lough that defines part of the border between Ireland and Northern Ireland. It's name reflects the fact that some of it's first tourists :) were the Vikings. Many buildings point to its historic past, most notably King John's Castle. It boasts a variety of restaurants and pubs serving good food, so whether your preference is "surf" or "turf" (or both !) you won't be disappointed. For something to bring home, there are lots of interesting options, including visiting the award winning Garrett Mallon Design House and bringing home one of his distinctive pieces of jewellery or the work of one of his fellow designers featured there.
The staff were excellent especially the hotel manager Terry he was so helpful, we couldn’t get parking straightaway near the hotel with the covid restrictions and bars in area using road as seating areas. When things got quieter he offered to go and move my friends car for her nearer the hotel in the spills of rain. Which to us was beyond his duties. Rest of staff were the same they couldn’t do enough for you
Location of hotel as it is right in the middle of the town. Ideal
This is an excellent place to stay in Carlingford. It's just minutes from the downtown, castle, and restaurants along the main road, but in a more idyllic atmosphere with animals grazing and a large, modern home to sleep in. The beds are very comfortable and the breakfast Mark made for us was abundant, delicious, and customized for our family. He also upgraded us to a room with a larger bathroom and jacuzzi tub, which was both kind and well enjoyed.
Kitchen area with small fridge microwave and kettle was really handy ,we brought some food with us and was able to make sandwiches etc fridge was good to keep beer and food cool. Maybe abit over priced but we had an extra 2 single beds in the room so if we'd have brought the kids then it's a bargain .Good spot and will definitely return as hotel across the way was alot more expensive for the dates we stayed .
Very cozy, clean and comfortable rooms in a beautiful location with amazing ocean views. Paul was a wonderful host who went above and beyond in taking care of us and making sure we were comfortable and all of our needs are met. Will definitely stay here again on future visits to Ireland.
Everything was just perfect. The level of cleanliness, service and facilities was exceptional for a B&B/ guesthouse. The full Irish breakfast was probably the best fully cooked breakfast we've ever had. Perfect stop on our way back to the ferry.
The accommodations were very nice. The owner Wendy was very nice and helpful with local places to check out. Would definitely stay here again when we return to Ireland. The Irish breakfast was amazing. We highly recommend this place.
the room was spotless and really tastefully decorated, and the grounds of the house were lovely. we had just stayed in Dublin in a hotel at 3 times the price and there was no comparison Riverside Lodge hands done won
The hotel room was beautiful and very comfortable, the restaurant downstairs exceeded our expectations and the staff were very kind, friendly and helpful! I would definitely recommend this hotel!
the old boat house was Lovely and clean in a great location we where going to a wedding in four seasons. the wee table and chairs outside are great if you want to have a drink with great views.
You just sink into the bed - very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was very good. Plenty of people around to chat. Less than 5 minutes walk to Seven Season Hotel where we attended to a wedding.
Anne was super great to communicate with both before our stay and during.
House was great for a group of girlfriends -- lots of bedrooms, enough bathrooms and big living spaces to hang out
The houses big but once you book this you will receive a long message from the owner about deposit, ID, taking all rubbish by yourself otherwise he will deduct money from the deposit.
Great view from our room and the breakfast room. It overlooked a field full of sheep. I loved hearing them at night. The food was good. I also loved the town of Carlingford.
Carlingford was an interesting place. Hotel breakfast was just OK - but, they were kind enough to start a bit earlier because we needed to get to the Airport!
Fantastic place to stay. very cosy and cheaper rate than most hotels.
The host violet was super nice to deal with.
Great location.would definitely stay again
